Water Well #1 in Zimbabwe
Marondera, Zimbabwe
Raised: $7000Needed: $7000
Musha Wevana is a home for orphaned and abandoned children in Marondera, Zimbabwe. Local leaders are in the process of beginning a new home in the rural area surrounding Marondera that will support a farm to feed the children and eventually house up to 100 children orphaned and abandoned in the rural area.
Securing a reliable and clean source of drinking water has been a challenge. Chronic electricity outages (up to 12 hours per day) mean that local water supplies are erratic at best, and in the past several years, many local water systems have been contaminated by the bacteria that causes cholera. We want to drill wells at Musha Wevana and the new rural home with electric pumps and manual backups, with each attached to a 5000 liter holding tank.
